Art-VR-project for the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad "Not a step back!"

From January 26 to February 2 Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts (Lenin St., 103, Information, Educational and Exhibition Center)

invites schoolchildren and students to take part in the Art-VR project dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad "Not a step back!".

The victory in the Battle of Stalingrad, whose 80th anniversary is celebrated in 2023, was of great political, strategic and international significance.

This victory of the Red Army was the beginning of a radical turning point in the Great Patriotic War and World War II, had a decisive influence on the further course of the war against Nazi Germany and its allies, and intensified the fight against the Nazis in all European countries. The myth of the invincibility of the Wehrmacht was finally undermined, and the strategic initiative on the Soviet-German front finally passed to the Red Army.

Masters of fine arts made a great contribution to understanding the historical significance of the Great Patriotic War and its largest battle, the Battle of Stalingrad. They captured on their canvases both decisive battles, and labor exploits, and portraits of the heroes of the front and rear. The collection of the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts contains a significant corpus of paintings, sculptures and graphics by Soviet artists dedicated to the Great Patriotic War.

The participants of our Art-VR project will be able to use the technologies of the 21st century to “revive” the paintings, immerse themselves in the atmosphere of that time: see the streets of military cities, fireworks in honor of the Stalingrad victory.

The project is intended for schoolchildren of middle and senior school age, students of colleges and universities, tickets are available on the Pushkin card.
