From June 16 to July 4 at the Vinzavod Center for Contemporary Art (4th Syromyatnichesky Lane, Building 1, p. 6), the Red Shop (Entrance 14) will host an exhibition of works by contemporary Argentinean photographers
The exhibition “Human Landscapes” brings together 35 works by seven Argentinean photographers, including such recognized masters as Alejandro Chaskelberg, Luis Abadi, Florencia Blanco, Laura Glusman, Nicholas Janowski, and young, but have already formed their individual creative handwriting by master Rosan Shoyhett and Gonzalo Madzhi Madzhi. The works, very different in aesthetics, are united by the idea of showing a person in his natural environment, catching and capturing the moment of mutual influence, interpenetration of the character and the surrounding space.
Each frame is a document testifying to the daily life of Argentines, their customs and habits, their attitude to nature and features of a national character. Sometimes this is a genre scene, sometimes a portrait. Although a person is not captured in every picture, everywhere his presence is clearly felt both as an active figure, mastering, settling territory, and as a contemplator, absorbing the beauty of his unique world.
The variety of faces and landscapes presented at the exhibition is amazing. These are ultramodern views of the metropolis, and beach resorts on the Atlantic coast of Mar del Plata, provincial centers in the north of the country and the island life of the Parana River. Buenos Aires skyscrapers and tiny suburban houses, central boulevards and backyards, cozy gardens and a riot of wildlife, interiors of public buildings and dwellings - all this is full of national color and, at the same time, universal humanity. The depth of penetration into the everyday life of people, these works are strikingly different from the usual glossy tourist landscapes. That is why the exhibition is the best way to compose your own idea of Argentina, a distant, beautiful and, alas, often unknown country, whose inhabitants are somehow extraordinarily close to Russians in spirit.
The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture of Russia and the Ministry of Culture of Argentina. The project was organized by the DANCE OPEN festival with the assistance of the Winzavod Center for Contemporary Art and the Moscow Exhibition Halls Association.
The event will be held as part of the Exchange Days of Culture of Russia and Argentina
