Gift of the Fund to them. M. T. Abraham to the State Hermitage Museum

The State Hermitage received three plaster sculptures by the French artist Edgar Degas (1834–1917) and two paintings by Vladimir Sterligov (1904–1973) as a gift. The gift was handed over to the museum in commemoration of many years of cooperation between the State Hermitage Museum and the Fund. M.T. Abraham, which serves as evidence of the close ties between Russia and Israel, as well as in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel. The works received as a gift will become an important addition to the museum’s collection of impressionist sculpture and Soviet post-war art. Works donated to the State Hermitage Museum are valued at a total of about $ 7 million.

The gift ceremony was attended by: Professor Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director of the State Hermitage Museum, Ms. Olga Slov, Consul General of the State of Israel in St. Petersburg, Mr. Amir Gross Kabiri, President, Fund named after M.T. Abraham, as well as Nick Ilyin, Advisor to the Director General of the State Hermitage Museum, Inna Bazhenova, publisher of The Art Newspaper, Oksana Salamatina, State Hermitage Fund in the USA.
