"The talking tree." Exhibition of works by I. and R. Azbuhanovs

For almost 30 years, artists have dedicated the revival of the art of carved icons. In their work, they focus both on the few surviving Old Russian images in the tree, and on the Byzantine samples. Masters combined virtuoso technique with a modern interpretation of an ancient artistic tradition.

Inessa and Rashid Azbuhanovs developed their own creative method of combining pictorial forms with elements of decorative ornamentation, in which the works gained a level of original, characteristic, recognizable style. In their work, artists follow the aesthetic principle of the language of symbols collected in a single space.

Inessa and Rashid Azbuhanovs are honored artists of the Russian Federation, honorary members of the Russian Academy of Arts, laureates of the prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of culture.
