"The Art of Deep Immersion. Konstantin Khudyakov" in the "Nagornaya" Gallery

The Art of Deep Immersion is a project that demonstrates the latest digital technologies used in contemporary art. With the help of a personal electronic device (smartphone, tablet), the viewer will be able to immerse himself in a hidden visual and animalistic resource of the work, as well as interactively navigate independently in the emerging 3-D scene, full of special effects, dynamics and sound.

The technology of added virtuality gives the picture completely new, previously impossible, qualities and properties.

“In my opinion, a successful attempt to actualize art practices through the active use of digital technology deserves respect and the most careful study. I’m sure that innovations in the field of artistic language, including digital technology, will allow the visual arts not only to preserve, but to increase the potential for further development, in line with the realities and challenges of the day in a rapidly changing society, ” commented the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medina.

As part of the exhibition project, on January 17, 2015 at 14:00 a creative meeting will be held with Konstantin Khudyakov.

Konstantin Khudyakov is a leader in the Russian art of high technology, an artist who is in search of the latest technical trends, mastering the most advanced programs and equipment. He is the creator of the new art form “Multi-touch-art”, in which the multiple sequence of digital photographic images reproduced on an interactive screen in the author’s computer processing creates a complete and complex work of art with a special visual and emotional effect.

K. Khudyakov was born in January 1945 in the village of Tsarevshchina, Saratov Region. He graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute (Department of Industrial Architecture). After graduating from the institute in 1971, according to the distribution, MARCHI worked as the main artist in the Central Museum of V.I. Lenin in Moscow. Since the late 90s, has been engaged in art using digital technology. Full member of the Russian Academy of Arts, president of the Creative Union of Artists, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. Member of the Moscow and Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art, many Russian and foreign exhibitions. The works of K. Khudyakov are in the collection of many world museums, including: the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, and the Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts.

Gallery "Nagornaya" began its work in 1978. This is the first state gallery in Moscow. Initially, the gallery showed mainly academic painting (socialist realism, critical realism, “harsh style”, “left” MOSH), but over the years the focus has shifted towards modern digital technologies, multimedia, installations, photography.
