Limited edition card series "Friends of Pushkinsky" to the exhibition "Schukin. Biography of the collection"

The Pushkin Museum. A.S. Pushkin specially for the exhibition “Schukin. Collection Biography” issues a limited series of loyalty cards "Friends of Pushkinsky." For the design, fragments of fabrics from the factory of the famous Moscow merchant Sergei Schukin were used.

Sergei Schukin possessed one of the richest collections of works of European modernism in the world. In his collection were the works of Monet, Renoir, Cezanne, van Gogh, Gauguin, Matisse, Picasso and other artists. Divided in 1948 between the Pushkin Museum im. A.S. Pushkin and the State Hermitage Museum for the first time in a long time, the collection was collected at the exhibition "Schukin. Biography of the collection. " Visitors will see more than 450 works of painting, drawing, sculpture and objects of decorative art from the collection of Sergei Schukin and his brothers Peter, Dmitry and Ivan. The general partner of the exhibition is Sberbank. The strategic partner of the exhibition is TMX.

In addition to collecting activities, Sergei Schukin was also known as a successful entrepreneur - he ran a large textile empire. According to the memoirs of contemporaries, Sergei Shchukin had a special sense of color and texture. He not only personally participated in the formation of the assortment of fabrics, but also selected drawings and colors for them. Largely due to the fact that Sergei Schukin professionally versed in textiles and constantly worked with color and form, he had a very developed artistic flair. It is no coincidence that it was from the midst of textile magnates that most of Moscow collectors came from Pavel Tretyakov to Sergei Schukin.

Textiles have become one of the symbols of the exhibition. Specifically for this project, patterns of fabrics that were produced at the factory of Sergei Schukin were recreated. They became the basis for the design of new limited cards of "Friends of Pushkin". Fabrics are also used in the design of the exposition: on the facade of the main building of the museum, on the main staircase and in the halls of the exhibition.

There are three types of cards issued: purple, silver and gold. They can be purchased from June 19 to September 15 at the counter “Friends of Pushkinsky” in the main building of the Museum, as well as online on the Museum’s website.
