The project "Open Stage" in the library. M.Yu. Lermontov

Barbolin, house 6, will be a celebration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov, in which the Open Stage project will present its performances to the attention of the audience. The director of the day is Ivan Pachin, the artists of the day are Vlada Pomirkovannaya, Denis Sazonov.

On the day of the 200th anniversary of Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov, a theatrical celebration of the anniversary of the great poet will be held in the library named after M.Yu. Lermontov. The anniversary is held by the library together with the Directorate of the Open Stage project, a center for theater innovation, which pays special attention to supporting young directors.

On this day, visitors to the library will be invited to become spectators, and theatergoers will be able to look at the library as a theater space. Young directors will show performances prepared especially for this day. In each room of the library - in the book depository and in the reading room, in the hall "Subscription" and on the stairs - installations, video lectures, a living monument to Lermontov and readers of his poems and letters will be placed. Viewers will be invited throughout the day to freely roam the library, finding in it individual voices, colors, sounds - images of Lermontov’s work.

The program involves five performances from different theater teams based on Lermontov’s different works - poetic, prosaic, dramatic: the organizers of the event completely left the choice of the directors to the directors:

“Fatalist”, director Ivan Pachin (“Creative Union 9”)

At the table with green cloth are five Pechorins and one Vulich. The chapter from the novel “The Hero of Our Time” was read in Gogolian style - in the mystical mystery of the already dead Vulich, there are surrounded by losers, among whom every Pechorin and no one is able to be.

Lermontov’s poem about the times of the Time of Troubles, stylized as an old Russian tale, will be played according to the laws of the area theater - in the center of the circle surrounded by spectators, real chips will fly.

“Menschen und Leidenschaften” (People and Passions), directed by Ksenia Zorina

Family drama, forgotten paintings of the life of serf Russia, described by young Lermontov in the play “Menschen und Leidenschaften”, became a reference point in order to peer into the world from which Lermontov came out, the story of how he grew up.

"Panorama of Moscow", directed by Alexander Tsoi

Three hipsters - three modern graphs read the text of Mikhail Lermontov, which describes Moscow of the 19th century against the backdrop of today’s Moscow panoramas, measuring the distance from us to the hero of the day.

“Lermontov is me,” directed by Sergei Aronin (“The Kindest Theater”)

Popular science hoax in unknown and fictional facts from the life of a romantic genius. Intellectual hooligans from “The Kindest Theater” will offer viewers to get acquainted with Lermontov, who finds himself in different eras and spaces.
