Of particular interest are the drawings of the great Russian artist Ivan Nikolaevich Kramskoy (1837 - 1887). All of them in 1918 were transferred to the museum by the son of the artist Anatoly Ivanovich Kramskoy. The earliest works of I. N. Kramskoy include a small sketch of the artist for a competitive picture for the second gold medal, Oleg’s Campaign to Constantinople (1861). The sketch is valuable in that it bears the red wax personal seal of the rector of the Imperial Academy of Arts, Fedor Ivanovich Bruni. The artist’s graphic sheets are diverse in technique and materials. This is a watercolor “Portrait of A. A. Bobrinskaya” (1872), ink and whiteness is executed by “Portrait of a cadet” (1860s).
