Exhibition "Favorite Theater and Cinema Artists in Stage Images"

From July 3 to August 28, viewers will see sixty portraits of contemporary Russian actors and actresses from leading theaters in the capital at the Arkhangelskoye Museum-Estate at an exhibition organized by the Golden Reach Moscow gallery.

The collection of portraits of theater artists in the characters of the performances of the classical repertoire was created by the Golden Reach Gallery with the support of the Maly Theater, Theater named after E. Vakhtangov, Theater of the Russian Army, Theater. A.S. Pushkin, Moscow Art Theater Gorky, Moscow Youth Theater.

Visitors will meet with characters from the works of great Russian writers embodied by our beloved actors Vera Vasilyeva, Irina Kupchenko, Valery Barinov, Vasily Bochkarev, Valery Abramov, Alina Pokrovskaya, Maria Aronova, Evgeny Knyazev, Viktor Sukhorukov, Sergey Yakovetsky, Alexey Guergy Marina Esipenko, Vladimir Simonov, Lyudmila Titova, Evgenia Glushenko, Yuri Shlykov, Andrei Ilyin, Igor Bochkin, Dmitry Yachevsky, eminent and very young, but equally passionately edany of their profession. The portraits were made in oil and watercolor painting by artists - graduates of the country’s leading art schools: Sergey Aldushkin, Irina Ganina, Anastasia and Anton Lobov, Nadezhda Lykova, Yuri Sochnev, Olga Kurilova, Alexander Kosnichev, Victor Orlov, Natalya Zaitseva.

Images of actors have always attracted the attention of artists. The history of Russian art knows a lot of vivid and expressive portraits of dramatic actors, opera singers, ballet masters. Orest Kiprensky, Ilya Repin, Valentin Serov, Konstantin Korovin, Mikhail Vrubel were able to masterfully convey the power of transformation of the actor and the essence of the image created by him.

All portraits presented at the exhibition were born on stage or behind the scenes of the theater. The artists of the Golden Reach Gallery faced a double task: to reveal the personality traits of the actor himself, his creative personality, inner world, and to reveal the essence of the original talent through the image of the stage hero.

The project, which began in 2007 with the portraits of Maria Mironova, Anna Dubrovskaya and Lyudmila Tatarova-Dzhigurda, now constitutes an extensive collection of picturesque images of theatrical figures, presents the history and a kind of anthology of modern Russian theater. This is a great merit of the artists of the Golden Reach Gallery.
