The exhibition of Marianna Kornilova "Closing the space around her" / "Beaker"

I have never considered and will not consider myself an artist or even so. I am not a professional, but I agree, thanks to the photographic experience of 25 years, to a modest definition of a specialist.

History has left us such a huge, beautiful, indestructible, centuries-old artistic heritage, and now I praise contemporary genius artists who are personally acquainted in person and in absentia that I am fully aware that my mission in photography and art as a whole is negligible, if at all.

This exhibition was held at the request of two artists deeply revered by me, just those geniuses who will go down in the history of world art with an invaluable contribution, and, in memory of my beloved father. He supported me in everything, and my taste and style, education are largely shaped by him.

“Beaker” includes two series of works, the line between which is thinner than the name itself. Several photographs are dedicated to Edgar Allan Poe, his scandalous novel "The Fall of the Asher House", the spiritual fracture of the heroes of this story, era, the maestro himself, attempts to break the mercilessly transparent glass, fictional, real, imposed by the foundations of society between them. And by us.

Other works support this topic. Who are we without those demons and angels, monsters and geniuses that hide inside us, rarely making themselves felt and only occasionally reflecting in sun glare, falling shadows, mirrors and camera optics?

“Closing the space around you” is very intimate, intimate, personal, like the torn pages from my diary. A huge test to show these works. This is what I live and breathe, how my House lives and breathes, its inhabitants and extremely rare visitors. I believe the topic is inexhaustible.

Einstein has a lot of curiosity about the enclosing space, also in works on psychosemantics, but I will allow myself a quote from the book that my father adored, the Strugatsky brothers, “Monday begins on Saturday,” which is more difficult to say in my case:
