Exhibition of Sergey Zakharenko "Color Geometry"

October 16 in the Attic of Artists opens an exhibition of Sergei Zakharenko "Color Geometry". Zakharenko has been involved in interior design for more than 20 years and since 1998 he has been a member of the Union of Artists in the graphic section, but for the exhibition in the Attic the artist prepared vivid pictorial abstractions with which he has been keen on recently. Sergey himself speaks of this hobby as a kind of intellectual game. The creation of ornaments, the layout of geometric shapes, the search for color relationships - all this occupies the mind of an artist who is developing his own artistic language.

Zakharenko designates his genre as “decorative cubism” and believes that creating abstractions can be more difficult than writing from nature. With the seeming freedom of artistic expression, a well-thought-out method is behind a good abstraction, which allows you to create a composition from scratch, while nature still gives the artist clues and a reference point. For Zakharenko, who relates himself not to irrational “inventors,” but to consistent “thinkers,” experiments with geometric shapes seem very curious.

At the same time, it cannot be said that Sergey Zakharenko is a cold and rational artist. When asked why he is engaged in painting, he answers with his own question: “Why do people breathe?” He cannot but work on the next picture, this is a natural part of his life. Sergei does not tolerate routine and is only concerned with what really pleases him, so it is especially pleasant to consider his paintings - they are written by a truly enthusiastic person.
