Exhibition of the artist Ilya Komov in the Gallery on Novinsky

"DRAFT CONSTITUTION".

In visual images, the constitution (basic law) of the work of the artist Ilya Komov will be presented:

1. Fine art is based on the plastic principles of constructing a positive image, and only in this case is art.

2. The main means of expressing the image in painting are composition, color, space.

3. The highest value is the artist. His rights (the right to work in his own workshop) and creative freedom should be protected by the state.

4. An attack on the artist’s workshop of any natural or legal person must be prosecuted.

5. The carrier of creative sovereignty and source of creativity is the artist.

6. No one dares to appropriate power over the artist and dictate what and how he should depict: neither the democratic public, nor the state, nor the customer, nor gallery owner, nor art media. The seizure of power over an artist or the appropriation of his authority must be prosecuted.

7. The artist carries out his art directly in his workshop, and also presents his works through the exhibiting bodies: galleries, exhibition halls, print media and the Internet.

8. Copying from photos, computer monitor, etc. is a crime against art and should qualify as rape of painting.

9. Ilya Komov is not a secular artist. The imposition of archaic atheistic dogmas on him is not permissible.

10. In the compositional and coloristic decisions of the image, Ilya Komov draws on the experience of ancient Russian fresco painting, as well as the masters of French Fauvism and Russian expressionism of the early and mid twentieth century.

11. In moderate doses, the influence of Russian classical painting and alternative art of the second half of the twentieth century is allowed.

12. The image is created by the author in live contact with the image object, the possibility of using photographs and other technical means is excluded.

13. The author claims complete rejection of Contemporary Art, which is not an artistic form of creativity. Attempts to pass this hack as a “new art form” or “struggle for our freedom” are ignored or (for the most persistent) persecuted from the stairs nose down.

14. Ilya Komov was born in 1965 in Moscow. He graduated from the Moscow Art School and the Moscow Art Institute named after Surikov. Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts, member of the Russian Union of Artists since 1991. The author of more than 30 solo exhibitions in Russia and abroad. The works are stored in museum and private collections of the Russian Federation and other countries, including the meeting of ex-UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, leader of the Indian National Congress, Sonya Gandhi, and others.
