Artist Yura Tumasyan was born in Armenia, p. Gandza, Georgian SSR in 1960, graduated from Yerevan Art College named after F. Terlemezyan and the Theater and Art Institute. In 1992 the artist moved to St. Petersburg, where after 10 years he joined the Union of Artists of Russia.

Over a long career, Y. Tumasyan participated in an impressive number of general and personal exhibitions, having established himself for the world of art as an original and rebellious character of an artist-researcher.

The fruitfulness of the work and the high exactingness of the author towards himself enable the viewer and connoisseur of Tumasyan’s talent to see new series of paintings in almost every exhibition.

Recalling the religious cosmogony of the creation of the world, the artist’s work on the graphic canvas begins, where, first of all, he sees a reflection of himself as a person and Creator. It is here that the artistic image is built on the verge of poetry and music, organizing the colorful plane of the image into a narrative story of feelings and experiences that here and now, not touching the past or future, exist in the format of a spatio-temporal unity.

The brush of Yura Tumasyan grabs the line, giving it a pulse and dynamics, builds a harmonious composition of color and gives rise to a feeling of beating of Life itself, captured and captured on canvas.
