- What is the real situation of women in the modern world?
- How was the freedom and independence of women realized in practice?
- Is there a social inequality between women and men?
- What is the real portrait of women today?
These and other issues are reflected in the new social project “Women. Today". According to the creators of the project, the art group "Paprika", the primary task of the artist in our time is to be the mouthpiece of society and to reveal its vices, problems and changes with the help of visual art. This project was created to draw people’s attention to women’s issues, to provide an opportunity to take a look at the “Women of this day”.
The Paprika art group is an international creative union of three artist friends who work in various techniques and genres, despite the similarity of thinking. They met while studying at an art school and later, having passed each of their individual paths to becoming an artist, came together to work together. All three artists are active travelers, and see their development precisely in the continuous interpretation of new experiences. The members of the group also consider it necessary to truthfully display within the framework of fine art a section of modern society with its inherent problems and changes. Young artists are not afraid to tackle serious and controversial topics; moreover, they see the acute social phenomena of modern society as a source of inspiration. At the end of 2016, the group announced the start of work on a new social project. His theme was the real situation of women in the modern world and their hidden, latent problems.
Within the framework of this project, Andrey Reter presents a man’s view of how much modern girls have changed and how much androgynous, what this leads to in their lives, the lives of people around and society as a whole.
Tatyana Reter covers the topic of restricting or even depriving women of their social connections and needs, as a form of psychological pressure - neglect.
Valerie Shepard (Valeria Korchagina) in his works raises the topic of social inequality.
With this social art project, artists want to draw public attention to this painful and underestimated topic.
The exhibition will run from May 12 to 19 at the Dissident Club at 25 Chistoprudny Boulevard.
