In person in Feodosia, she looks simply stunning, especially considering that shes also the size of an entire wall. I love the sea.
Its also tilted towards the viewer, creating a feeling that this entire mass of water is about to crash down on you.
I saw this painting in Feodosia about 40 years ago. The impression has stayed with me for a lifetime. When you enter the room where the painting is displayed, you feel like youre getting splashed by the waves. Its an incredible feeling.
Its interesting that the artist himself didnt like this painting and wouldnt allow it to be taken out of Feodosia.
And I think its one of the best works by the artist.
My favorite painting. What a masterpiece! I saw it a long time ago at the artists house in Feodosia, and the image of this painting is still vivid in my mind.
Ive also seen this painting in person! It made a lasting impression! The water really looks like its about to crash down.
Fyodor doesnt possess real information. For the artist, it was a cherished creation, something I had been striving for my entire life. I couldnt bear to part with it due to my deep love and affection (it was created in the 81st year of his life – soon after, the artist would pass away, not living two months before turning 83).
This is a masterpiece; not everyone can create such masterpieces at the age of 80; its very impressive.
In person, a different painting hangs in Feodosia, and this is not by Aivazovsky. You, my friend, if you were indeed in Feodosia, you must have noticed the sinking mast among the waves. But whether you were there or not – it doesnt really matter. In fact, forgeries are displayed everywhere; they just blatantly copy them, its outrageous.
This is by Aivazovsky. I saw this painting in Feodosia. Its grand and majestic. Absolutely stunning! But the color reproduction in this photo is simply terrible! It doesnt allow you to get a sense of what the original artwork looks like.
Troll, bot, or whatever you are, my enthusiastic one, tell me the dimensions of the original in Theodosia? I think you must have noticed that, you our careless one.
I also saw that painting 40 years ago. Just sea foam during a storm, and nothing more. Its huge! And it illuminates the entire room. Inside, it has neon lighting.
You cannot comment Why?
The subtexts of this painting likely revolve around themes of natures power, the sublime, and the human experience in the face of overwhelming natural forces. The turbulent sea can symbolize chaos, struggle, and the unpredictable nature of life. The presence of dark clouds suggests adversity, hardship, or impending danger. However, the breaking waves and hints of light also suggest resilience, hope, and the enduring beauty that can be found even in tumultuous times. The painting invites contemplation on humanitys relationship with nature, the awe it inspires, and the respect it commands. It evokes a sense of both fear and fascination, as one witnesses the untamed might of the ocean.
