Description of Valentin Serov’s painting "Portrait of Repin".
An outstanding artist of his time and generation, Valentin Serov lived and worked in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. During his career he painted a great many different kinds of pictures, but at first Serov was engaged in painting portraits and paintings to commission. Through his commissioned work he became one of the most talented and prominent portrait painters of his era.
Among his portrait paintings is a portrait of his friend and colleague Ilya Repin. Valentin Serov completed his work just over a century ago - in 1901. This artistic work was written in, of course, the genre of realism. The picture was written not in vain - Repin really meant a lot to Serov.
And this story began in 1874, when the mother of the young artist, seeing the talent of his son, took him to Paris. During these years, Repin lived, worked and created in Paris, who eventually became the very first mentor and teacher for the future portrait painter.
After some time, the artist’s mother met a patron of the arts. The result of this relationship was that she took Valentin Serov, quite young and inexperienced, to Abramtsevo. There he began to be taught by Repin, Polenov and Vasnetsov. But the biggest influence on him again had Repin, who had earned the boy’s trust and favor earlier.
However, their friendship didn’t last that long, and broke off a few years after the painter painted a portrait of his first teacher, mentor and master. This happened because after 1905, when Serov changed a lot and became moody and irascible. Because of his changed character, he gave up the title of academician completely. This was the end of the friendly relationship between the two artists. Nevertheless, the portrait of Repin, painted by a talented hand of Serov, still amazes the minds of contemporary artists.

The picture has something of this: people, portrait, mustache, facial hair, man, scientist, popularity, leader, writer, jacket, poet, lid, famous, exploration, goatee.
Perhaps it’s a close up of a painting of a man in a suit with a moustache on his face.
