Painter: Claude Oscar Monet
The artist Monet often depicted this particular part of the street. He often depicted this particular boulevard on canvas, but, however, at different times of the year and even at different times of the day. And that’s why these particular paintings have value. And in general this is a new style, a new style then, now long known to us - impressionism. It’s easier to explain this style as follows: what I see is what I depict.
Description of Claude Monet’s painting Boulevard des Capucines in Paris
The artist Monet often depicted this particular part of the street. He often depicted this particular boulevard on canvas, but, however, at different times of the year and even at different times of the day. And that’s why these particular paintings have value.
And in general this is a new style, a new style then, now long known to us - impressionism. It’s easier to explain this style as follows: what I see is what I depict. Pissarro, Monet, Manet... These are not all names. Many French artists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries had at least a little experience in this style.
Again not all stopped in it. Monet stayed in this style of painting. This canvas depicts Capuchin Boulevard in the morning or in the afternoon. And you can see that the boulevard is living its bustling life.
People wander back and forth along the broad sidewalk, some on business and some just loitering. And on the roadway are moving carriages or just recently appeared first cars. You won’t know exactly at what time of the year this canvas was painted.
Most likely, it was early spring, when the snow had not yet melted. There is another painting that shows the same part of the boulevard in the evening, where everything sparkles with lights and there are as many people. But on this canvas, one day of the French capital and that part of the boulevard, where the stores and theaters, cafes and restaurants are located. The capital is buzzing with its own unique life.
But this is not the only boulevard depicted by the artist. There are more canvases where the artist depicted the same room many times at different times of the year and day. And each time the room was visually different.
Different colors and different light made the building look fantastic. You even get the feeling that it’s painted in these colors, even though the building is actually gray. And what colors it? Nature, the sun, and sometimes the fog adds a completely distorted image.
This beauty is fascinating, whether it’s Capuchin Boulevard or something else.

The picture has something of this: winter, snow, cold, nature, frost, tree, landscape, outdoors, season, wood, ice, weather, frozen, fall, water, bright.
Perhaps it’s a painting of a crowd of people walking down a street next to a tall building with a clock on the top of it’s steeple.
