First and foremost, a huge thank you to the compilers of this album. Kustodiev is a truly Russian artist. All his paintings are imbued with a sincere love for Russia and its people. He deeply feels the soul of the nation. Its hard to find words to describe the delight evoked by some of his paintings, and the quiet serenity inspired by others.
The child is asking to find this specific version of Maslenitsa in its original form... Neither the Tretyakov Gallery nor the Russian Museum has it. Perhaps someone can suggest where else it might be found? ❯❯❯
Boris Kustodiyev came from a poor family and never considered painting; he wanted to become a priest. He studied at a seminary but then, unexpectedly becoming interested in art, he dropped out and went to St. Petersburg to enroll in the Academy of Arts. His talent as a portrait painter emerged, and even as a student, he created a series of high-quality portraits of Bilibin, Mordovtsev, and Stellezhsky. For his graduation project, the artist received a gold medal and the right to travel abroad. Kustodiyev went to Paris, where he became acquainted with French painting, techniques that he used in the beautiful painting Morning.
The most cherished and beloved thing for him was recreating the life of old Russia, which resulted in a great number of watercolors, paintings, and drawings. The artists love of life and energy were astonishing. He attended premieres at theaters, took long trips around the country, despite being in a wheelchair due to a severe illness. However, his illness progressed, and recently Kustodiyev was forced to work close up, on a horizontally suspended canvas that was so close that he could not see his painting as a whole. However, his physical strength waned; an ordinary cold turned into pneumonia, which his heart could not handle.
Cant you write this essay yourself? Theres such a riot of colors here; the snow is so bright it almost hurts your eyes. The imagery is just incredible! ❯❯❯
Thank you very much for the collection of photos and the opportunity to download them. Im been searching for this artists album for a long time, but without success. But here, I had such good luck! Thank you! ❯❯❯

It seems there is no painting by Kustodiev titled Portrait of Count N. P. Ignatiev, painted in 1902.
Mikhail, thank you! It has been fixed.
