Project "Academic Look"

In the lens of the photographer Serzh Golovach, the phenomenon of academic gaze takes on a literal meaning - for him, a gaze means an eye. It is noteworthy that it is interesting for him not to see the world through the eyes of academics, but, on the contrary, to look into the eyes of academics from the side of the world, and using macro photography to study the amazing tool with which they scan the surrounding reality.

Just an eye on a white background is certainly a capacious, but extremely simple statement. However, such a straightforward presentation is just an illusion. Laconic form hides many meanings.

“Academic look” is a project of “post-photography”, a priori hybrid and multi-layered, and it is not only a performance technique, but also a game with layers of spectator perception.
