The most romantic films are Russian and not only

No matter how much cynics boast of their cool-headedness and rationality, romance is present in everyone’s life. And it’s great that romantic movies give us the opportunity to dive into it headfirst.

Romantic films released in Russia, especially in the Soviet Union, are full of deep inner feelings of the protagonists. Russian romantic films  present us with thinking, empathetic, optimistic characters that we want to watch again and again. They remain in our hearts for many years.

Perhaps one of the greatest Soviet melodramas – the movie «The Irony of Fate or With Easy Steam». It first appeared on the screens on January 1, 1976, and it is still watched today. He immediately made a furor among domestic viewers. The movie was called the best picture of the year, and Myagkov the best actor. Humor, wonderful actors, unusual plot, beautiful music and the talent of Eldar Ryazanov made this picture so wonderful.

Another representative of the great era of Soviet cinema – «Love and Doves», a movie by the second maestro of that time, Vladimir Menshov. It is probably the funniest movie about love. For what matters, Russian romantic movies  can be very different! The brilliant Lyudmila Gurchenko and other excellent actors laugh to tears and do not let you tear yourself away from the screen even in the hundredth time of watching.

«Service Romance», «Moscow does not believe in tears» - these are movies that everyone has seen, and those who have not seen should definitely watch! In «Service Romance» is very happy music and heroine Liya Akhidzhakova – colorful secretary Verochka, and in «Moscow does not believe in tears» - hero Batalov – an example of a real man.

Now they also produce worthy pictures in the romantic genre. These are the sensational «Admiral» Andrei Kravchuk, and the films «Indy» and «Red Pearl of Love» as well as many others.

No matter how beautiful and unique our domestic cinematography is, romantic genre films from other countries deserve attention. Or rather not all of them, but the brightest of its representatives.

A separate line should be allocated to the films of Woody Allen. This genius gave us so many masterpieces, so many cities. Love stories in New York, Barcelona, Paris, Rome. And you don’t know what Woody – singing the beauty of the city or the story itself turned out better.

«Annie Hall», «Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona», «Midnight in Paris» should be seen by every self-respecting movie buff.

Romantic movies about love  these are still vivid adaptations of beloved works.

The movies based on Jane Austen’s books are almost all delightful. Whether it is the books are so good, or whether their enchanting atmosphere is to blame – unclear. But they are wonderful!

All the film adaptations of «Pride and Prejudice» are good. The biggest love was the mini-series with Jennifer Or and Colin Firth in 1995. Oh, how many women’s hearts were broken after it.

And then there’s «Emma» with the most charming main character and «Sense and Sensibility». Good is the movie «Life According to Jane Austen» (The Jane Austen Book Club  ), in which fans of Jane’s work gather and discuss her books. It will be of interest not only to Austen lovers, but also to connoisseurs of unhurried refined movies that leave a pleasant aftertaste.

A worthy adaptation of «Wuthering Heights» of 2011, as well as «Jane Eyre» of the same year.

Well, of course, the story of Romeo and Juliet should not be overlooked - Zeffireli’s superb 1963 adaptation and Baz Luhrmann’s original 1996 solution.
