Igor Dryomin:
Chichigin’s Exhibition

From January 12 to January 24, 2015, in the exhibition hall of the Association of Artists of the Ministry of Agriculture on 1st Tverskaya-Yamskaya, 20, an exhibition of Moscow artist Alexander Albertovich Chichigin takes place.

Alexander Chichigin was born in 1956 in the village of Kultuk, Irkutsk Region. In 1979 he graduated from the art and graphic department of the Khabarovsk Pedagogical Institute. In 1980, he began to engage in professional creative activities.

The art of Alexander Chichigin is not limited to any particular topic. The artist is characterized by genre and thematic diversity. He is interested in the world in all its manifestations. The only thing that unites his paintings is the art form, which in his works is not only a way and means of depiction, but also content. No wonder the artist’s favorite genre is still life, which allows you to focus on form-making.

Do not leave the artist indifferent and events taking place in the world. The painting “Save and Preserve” was written by him in memory of the Beslan tragedy. This painting reflected sorrow for all victims of terrorist attacks and local wars. This is not just a picture; this is a prayer picture, an appeal to God for the salvation and preservation of this world. In the picture “4 lifetimes”, the main stages of a person’s life were embodied: childhood, a mature life pretended to be bearing the cross, death in the form of a crucifix, and the main stage - resurrection and ascension.

Openness to all manifestations of life and a love of art form are the basis of the personality of Alexander Chichigin as a person and artist.
