Claude Monet represents a legacy of world culture with works in the style of Impressionism. The French artist not only created this current, but used this trend in all of his works. And one of his works of particular interest to the viewer is a self-portrait.
In this picture, the viewer can see a serious mature man who looks at the viewer with his deep and thoughtful eyes. The artist depicted himself in a beret, and often the self-portrait is called "Self-Portrait in a Beret." The colors that the artist used are so vivid that it seems as if a living artist is watching us. Despite the fact that everything is done in dark colors, yet the background is diluted with a gentle blue color. Through the use of this color palette, the artist focuses on his personality without being distracted by the details. Looking at the self-portrait one can’t help but wonder what the artist was thinking at that moment and if he could convey the emotions and feelings he was experiencing at that moment. A self-portrait with deep meaning, genuine and unadorned feelings, make you look at it and wonder about the power that comes from the self-portrait.
The painting is a true masterpiece of art, and Monet’s self-portrait is one of the brightest paintings of the Impressionist movement. His serious face makes you think about a lot of things, and start searching for yourself. Self-portrait for each artist is a reflection of his essence and character, because by portraying themselves, they depicted their soul, ready to open up to the patient viewer.

This is a self-portrait of Claude Monet, painted in 1886. He is depicted wearing a dark beret and a dark jacket over a light-colored shirt and dark tie. His gaze is directed at the viewer with a serious and somewhat intense expression. The background is a soft, impressionistic swirl of blues and whites, suggesting an outdoor setting or a studio flooded with natural light.
The painting showcases Monets signature Impressionist style, characterized by visible brushstrokes and a focus on capturing light and color. The loose application of paint, particularly in the background and clothing, gives the portrait a sense of immediacy and movement.
