Lyric landscapes of Viktor Chulovich at an exhibition in Moscow

The exhibition hall, owned by the Partnership of Painters, invites you to visit a retrospective exhibition of paintings by an outstanding master of the sixties era, Victor Chulovich. Working in a genre called “landscape-mood”, the artist gained immense popularity among connoisseurs of painting with his lyrical landscapes.

His works, written at different times of the year, reflect the mood of the author. The seeming simplicity of the landscapes displayed on the canvases conceal the admiration of the painter in front of the world around him. All the works of Victor Chulovich are based on sketches made by the artist from nature, on the observations made by him when visiting various parts of the country.

Wanting to most fully express his creative ideas, Chulovich resorted to experiments in the technique of painting, but always remained a follower of realism. His habit of returning to the same motives many times allows him to see a series of paintings dedicated to places that served as nature for the painter. If you compare them, you can see the differences in lighting, composition, color paintings.

The need for contact with nature forced the painter to travel around the country, to work in the open air from the first spring days. The materials brought from these trips became the basis for paintings dedicated to the Tver land, where the academic cottage, Central Asia, and Moscow Region was located. His skill in the selection of color shades of paintings made it possible to convey the nuances of lighting landscapes, giving them special beauty.

Since 1950, V. Chulovich was a member of the Union of Artists, his paintings have repeatedly participated in foreign exhibitions.

The exhibition, located on First Tverskaya-Yamskaya Street, house 20, will continue to work until September 29.
