Moscow landscapes are another facet of the talent of the battalist E.I. Danilevsky

For connoisseurs of painting who know the Russian folk artist Yevgeny Danilevsky, as a master who wrote a large number of paintings on historical topics, an opportunity to see his talent on the other hand.

The personal exhibition of E. Danilevsky, which opened in the "Overcoming" center, named after Nikolai Ostrovsky, presents his paintings with images of landscapes near Moscow, old Moscow and portraits of its inhabitants. Most of these paintings were painted in the nineties of the last century.

Although that part of Danilevsky’s works, thanks to which his name became famous, are large-scale battle paintings, his wonderful landscapes of central Russia show the artist as a master of the lyrical plan. No wonder that the series of paintings belonging to the master’s brush, called “Polenovskie Places”, was painted in compliance with all the best traditions of the Russian school of painting.

The first place where Danilevsky began to study painting was the art school of Kiev. Then he continued his education at the Kharkov Art Institute, where he studied in a battle workshop led by academician P.I.Kotov. This place of study determined the preference in the work of the battle genre.

A few years after graduation, Danilevsky moved to Moscow, where after some time, having submitted his new works to the selection committee of the Union of Artists, he became a member. These works marked the beginning of the artist’s appeal to creativity related to the military theme. Then the artist was invited to work in the Studio of MB Grekov, where he worked until his last days.

The work of E.I. Danilevsky was awarded the gold medal of the Academy of Arts and adorns the collections of the most famous museums in the world.
