East Prussia - the history of the region through the eyes of an artist from Lithuania in Kaliningrad

In the cultural life of the Kaliningrad Territory, neighboring Baltic countries have always taken part. Lithuanian artist Romanas Borisovas at his personal exhibition, which began work in the Kaliningrad Museum "Friedland Gate", presents his drawings and watercolors. This is not the first time Borisovas has brought his work to Kaliningrad, but each of his exhibitions has attracted the attention of not only art lovers, but also all people who are interested in the history of his native land.

The exposition of the opening exhibition is called “The Failed Heritage…” and consists of 24 works by the artist in which you can see fragments of the past - what remains of the once majestic castles and estates of East Prussia. Time did not spare the former beauty, in our days it can only be imagined, but this can only be done thanks to the talent of the painter, which allows you to see the missing outlines of the once majestic temples.

Since the birth of Borisovas, the ancient streets of old Vilnius have been encircling, perhaps it was his native city that aroused his love of architecture and art, and his interest in East Prussia was due to the fact that the ancestors of the artist were from there. Passion for sailing allowed Borisovas more than once to visit the homeland of his ancestors.

After graduating from the Vilnius Art Institute, Borisov served in the army, the Kaliningrad region became his place of service, which allowed the artist to get to know this region even better. After the service the journey continued, many sketches, drawings and photographs were made.

Those classes that the artist initially regarded as a hobby became the main business of his life. His works were shown in many countries of the world. In Kaliningrad, you can get acquainted with the work of Borisovas until the end of October.
