Exhibition of artists, opened in Kaliningrad, introduces the history of the region

KALININGRAD. Until June 23, the exhibition "Three Artists - Three Views…", which opened in the reception hall of the Russian representative office of the Foreign Ministry, will work. The opening of this exhibition was made possible thanks to the assistance of the Ministry of Culture of the region. About fifty works by three artists working in completely different styles and forms of painting were presented by the Regional Museum of History and Art to create an exhibition.

The organizers of the exhibition set as their goal not a simple acquaintance with the work of the watercolor master Romanas Borisovas, the famous cartoon artist Igor Pashchenko and the paintings of Tamara Vasilyauskene. First of all, the exposition of the exhibition should introduce the architectural heritage preserved in the Kaliningrad region and its history.

Igor Pashchenko’s work is represented by a series of works entitled “Hole on the Map”. They beat the geographical position of the region, but in addition to this, the artist’s works suggest thoughts about the problems that accompany modern man, about his loneliness and the choice of paths to freedom.

The artist from Lithuania Romanas Borisovas in his watercolors allows you to see old castles, churches and estates, many of which have been turned into ruins by ruthless times. Now you can only imagine, looking at the magnificent ruins, how beautiful they were before.

When creating the series of paintings “Magic Prussia”, Tamara Vasiliauskene used archival materials, adding dynamic scenes from urban life to them. This makes it possible to look into the past depicted in the artist’s paintings, to see landscapes that have long been changed with their own eyes. The cities depicted by Vasiliauskene are a fine thread connecting the past and the present.
