Working on the portraits of her daughters, Makarov was struck by the amazing beauty and charm of the mistress of the house. It is not surprising that the artist suggested painting her portrait.
Today, the permanent place of this famous portrait in the Memorial apartment of A.S. Pushkin. At the time of the exhibition "Long-standing acquaintances", the famous portrait of Natalia Nikolaevna became the property of her exposition. Participation in the exhibition of the most famous Russian museums gave the organizers the opportunity to include portraits of Natalya and Maria Pushkin stored in the St. Petersburg Museum of A.S. Pushkin, and from the museum of L.N. Tolstoy received a portrait of Maria Pushkina, painted in 1860, when she was already married.
