In Samara opened the anniversary exhibition of V. Purygin "Laboratory of the masterpiece"

The Regional Art Museum of Samara provided the main hall for holding a personal exhibition of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Valentin Purygin. This exhibition is dedicated to the anniversary of the artist, who would have turned 85 years old this year. At the same time, the “Masterpiece Laboratory” - this name was given to the exposition by its organizers, became a part of the project carried out by the Samara Museum. The project, called "Memory of the Heart", is dedicated to the deceased people of art, whose work and life were associated with the city of Samara.

In the Marble Hall of the museum, visitors to the exhibition can get acquainted with collages and graphic works that have not previously participated in exhibitions. A huge number of works by Valentin Purygin, which is in the museum, is still waiting for researchers of his work. Museum workers who participated in the development of the exhibition project decided to show not only the artist’s works, but also the process of working on them as part of the exhibition.

To do this, next to the painting, painted by Valentin Purygin, viewers are shown all the stages of work preceding the creation of the picture. Work began with the creation of graphic sketches of the future picture, then collages were created to help the artist better see the composition and transfer it to the canvas. The viewer appears all the way traveled by the artist when creating the picture. Many of the sketches already represent a finished work of graphics.

The works of Valentin Purygin exhibited for display are very vivid in their composition, they are voluminous, but their content on the destruction of civilization is alarming, and the space of paintings is populated with fantastic nightmares.
