Personal exhibition of Yuri Samsonov - an artist painting with mood

ST. PETERSBURG. In the hall “trapezoid” of the Exhibition Center of the Union of Artists, on June 3, the personal exhibition of Yuri Samsonov began. The exhibition exposition consists of the artist’s graphic works made in the style of abstract expressionism. For landscapes written by Yuri Samsonov on paper, mixed media are used, thanks to this, the artist’s works look stylish and modern.

Yuri Samsonov received the basics of professional art education in his native city of Leningrad, who was born in it in 1961. His place of study was the restoration school, and the artist began his creative activities in the late eighties. In 1977, Yuri Samsonov became a member of the Union of Artists.

The artist says that each of his work is an impromptu, he never remodels or tweaks them. He writes a lot, but on average, out of twenty works, only one is presented to the public. For one picture painted by Samsonov, he takes about the time it takes to dry the paint.

This is the creative principle of an artist working in the style of abstract expressionism. The author of this term was back in the 1920s an art critic from Germany E. von Süden. The main thing in this technique of painting and graphics was exclusively spontaneous work, performed exclusively under the influence of a momentary mood, an emerging emotional state.

The main rule of the work of artists when using this style is the absence of any rules applied in classical painting. The presence of such a technique is evident in the early works of Kandinsky. Visitors of the exhibition will be able to get acquainted with such a peculiar way of work of Yuri Samsonov until June 16th.
