KALUGA. December 20 at 16 hours in the Kaluga Regional Art Museum will open the exhibition "George Abramov (1913-1974): creative heritage."

The exhibition presents the creative heritage of G.D. Abramov (1913-1974), a member of the Union of Artists, a professional Kaluga artist of the era of socialist realism, who embodied in his work and in a new socio-cultural context the realistic components and developing realism as the defining method of Russian painting. floor. XIX century The exhibition is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of G.D. Abramov, in the exposition - the master’s works from the collection of the Kaluga Regional Art Museum.

Georgy Dmitrievich Abramov was born in Tula, studied in 1931-1933 at the Faculty of Arts at the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. In 1947, G.D. Abramov moved to Kaluga to participate in the organization of the Kaluga branch of the Union of Artists, where he soon occupied the position of a leading artist in the creative team.

The art-subject complex of the exhibition presents priority topics in the work of the master. G.D. Abramova was always interested in the topic "artist and creative process." From here - self-portraits and numerous portraits of his colleagues - leading Kaluga artists: V.A. Suetina, T.A. Kalashnikova, V.G. Grishina, F.N. Yelgina, F.S. Artamonova, L.N. Kazakevich, V.P. Lyubimova, R.K. Kurchik, sculptor N.G. Prozorovsky and others. The compositional solution of portraits involves a purely portrait image, and in the process of creativity, in the studio. Portraits of Kaluga artists - contemporaries GD Abramova - diverse in their artistic characteristics and are a kind of picturesque source for studying the Kaluga art process of the XX century.

“Hometown in the past and present” - this theme finds its pictorial solution in a series of architectural landscapes, diverse in composition and pictorial solution (“Old Kaluga. Suvorova Street”, “Old Kaluga. Theater Passage”, “New Kaluga”).

Creating landscapes “Avchurino Neighborhood” and “Fishing”, the artist works within the framework of the open-air landscape, preserving the freshness of the impression and immediacy of perception. The genre of still life - in the artist’s work, first of all, it implies “attributes of art”.

The historical and revolutionary theme occupied a rather large place in the artist’s work: the history of Russia, the Civil War. The best of them are by no means opportunistic works, but works that cause deep reflection on the tragedy of Russia and the Russian people during the Civil War (“To the Front”).

The world of creativity G.D. Abramova, presented in the framework of this exhibition space, positions realism as a method and as a style direction, developing not only the Kaluga art process, but also the overall classical traditions of Russian art.
