An exhibition of one painting "NK Roerich. Terem of Yaroslavna. On the 140th anniversary of the artist".

As part of the Artistic Chronograph - 2014 museum project, the main exposition of the Kaluga Regional Art Museum for residents and visitors of the city of Kaluga presents an exhibition of one painting, N.K. Roerich. Terem Yaroslavna ”to the 140th anniversary of the artist.

One of the milestones in the creative fate of the Russian artist, poet, publicist, archaeologist, N.K. Roerich (September 27 (October 9) 1874, St. Petersburg - December 13, 1947, Naggar, Himachal Pradesh, India), was his activity as a theater decorator. In 1909, at the invitation of S.P. Diaghilev, the artist took part in the Russian seasons in Paris, where N.K. Roerich was shown "Polovtsian Dances" from "Prince Igor" A.P. Borodin and the "Pskovityanka" N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov.

Visitors to the exhibition will get acquainted with the work of N.K. Roerich’s "Terem Yaroslavna", included in a series of sketches of scenery for the opera A.P. Borodin “Prince Igor”, which was based on the “Word of Igor’s Regiment”, a literary monument of Ancient Russia of the XII century.

For visitors, the exhibition will run until April 1, 2014.
