Exhibition "Western European Art" in the village of Veshenskaya

ROSTOV-ON-DON. Visitors and residents of the city have always been in demand for excursions to the village of Veshenskaya, where the Sholokhov Museum-Reserve operates. Since the beginning of April, this route has gained even greater popularity. Until May 11, the West European Art exhibition was opened at the People’s House exhibition center, which is part of the museum-reserve complex, exhibits for which arrived in Veshenskaya from the capital.

The metropolitan museum of A.S. Pushkin provided from his collection more than a hundred unique works of art, including graphics, painting, sculpture. Included in the exhibition are items of decorative art. The works that made up the exposition of the exhibition are represented by about sixty artists who created their masterpieces in the 17-19th centuries.

The basis of the exposition was unique works of art related to the work and life of Pushkin. Here you can see portraits of people who are closely acquainted with the poet, as well as his contemporaries, whose work was well known to Pushkin. Entered the exposition and portraits of Russian emperors.

A special place among a series of famous people of the Pushkin era in the exposition was occupied by portraits of writers who had a huge impact on Pushkin’s poetic and literary talent. These are portraits of Shakespeare, Heine, Schiller - great authors, whose works were examples of skill for Pushkin.

The great poet of Russia has never been outside the country, but the reflection in his work of history, culture of various countries, a description of the life and customs of the peoples living in these countries are so true, as if Pushkin had lived among his heroes for years. The exhibition "Western European Art", created by the Pushkin Museum, gives visitors the opportunity to get acquainted with their treasures.
