For the anniversary of Ivan Yazev in Rostov opened the exhibition "Artist of a bygone era"

GROWTH. The Regional Museum of Fine Arts celebrated the centennial of the national artist Ivan Yazev with the opening of the exhibition “An Artist of a Bygone Era”. To create an exposition of a personal exhibition, works from their collections were provided by two museums - the Rostov Fine Arts and the Volgodon Historical Museum. The exposition was supplemented by works from a personal collection, a private collector who wished to remain anonymous.

The exhibition hall housed the artist’s works written in various genres - landscapes, still lifes, and among the portraits (many of them depict Ivan Yazev’s friends), one can also see self-portraits of the artist himself.

There was also a place in the exposition for sketches, which became the basis for the creation of paintings that brought Ivan Andreevich fame. Third-year student Ivan Yazev went to the front. His military merits were marked by numerous awards. Yazev’s works created during the war years are also presented in the exhibition hall.

The Rostov Museum did not accidentally turn to the work of Ivan Andreevich Yazev. In the school to them. Grekov, located in Rostov, the master took the first steps in comprehending artistic mastery. Ivan Andreevich was born in the village of Romanovskaya. Although the artist lived most of his creative life in Moscow, he indicated in his will that the place of his funeral should be his native village.

Many of the museum staff and art historians were personally acquainted with the artist, so in their speeches at the opening of the exhibition, there were stories about the personality of Ivan Andreevich, about his human qualities.
