Cloths of the modern romance of Alexander Korostelev in the gallery "Dar"

PSKOV. The Pskov Gallery “Dar” opened the exhibition “Breath of the Sun” on October 23, where the artist Alexander Korostelev presented his works, created recently. The artist included works on his family in the exhibition. They enter the cycle, called by Alexander "In the same breath."

This series is made by the artist using “hot” tones. The canvases are dominated by scarlet and yellow tones. In the original compositions, images arise in which the features of the people closest to the artist - his wife and daughters - are easily recognizable. At the same time, canvases and plots originating from the Bible are clearly visible on the canvases. According to the painter, creating these canvases, he tried to answer every question concerning the meaning of life.

In addition to paintings dedicated to loved ones, the artist included in the exhibition landscapes of surprisingly delicate work. Some of them are dedicated to Pskov - the city that became A. Korostelev’s family for 18 years of life. Many landscapes were born in Pushkin places, where the painter worked in open air, held in the Mikhailovsky reserve.

Colleagues of Alexander Korostelev came to congratulate the artist on the opening of a new exhibition. At the opening ceremony, art historian Olga Koshelkova recalled that Korostelyov’s work deserves serious discussion. Although there are no detailed publications about the painter, they will probably appear in the near future.

In addition to his original works, Alexander Korostelev writes wonderful copies of the works of famous masters, engages in carving and restoration of wood. His teaching talent allowed him to create a studio, and last year the work of the studio was presented at an exhibition held at the center of folk art.

The exhibition "Breath of the Sun" will be open on November 18th.
