TULA. An amazing world, born of the imagination of the Moscow artist Boris Ivanov, is located in the art space of the Museum of Not Toys. Creating his characters, whether it be paintings, or figures made of wood, the artist uses a special, paradoxical anatomy to create them. Therefore, each of his characters is a little angular and “slightly plump”, but surprisingly human. Museum visitors, who managed to get acquainted with the exposition, say that kindness and warmth come from the dolls created by Boris Ivanov, each of them is endowed with a soul.

The first paintings created by the artist of a magnificent series of paintings, known to connoisseurs of painting by Boris Ivanov as “The Planet of the Fat Men”, appeared in 2000. Over the years since the birth of the first work of this series, it included about three thousand works. A substantial number of dolls were included in the same series.

Among the works selected by the author for display in Tula, many interesting characters will appear before the visitors of the exhibition - from vital to fantastic. Near the fishermen and football fans, an alien feels great, and next to him, a cheerful clown and doctor Aibolit come to life.

The works of Boris Ivanov will be guests of Tula until the end of May.
