IRKUTSK. The personal exhibition of the Irkutsk artist Gennady Ivanov was opened on June 9 at the Art Museum named after Sukachev. For the works created by Gennady Ivanov in the field of photography, the artist was awarded the prize of the governor of the Irkutsk region. The master is the chairman of the artistic council of the Irkutsk Photographic Society.

Gennady Ivanov created his first paintings in the 70s, when the Irkutsk art school occupied a leading place in Siberia, where the atmosphere was filled with friendship and creative competition. At this time, the artist gained his individuality, his style of painting.

Beginning in the 80s, he painted a large number of landscapes in the vicinity of Lake Baikal, on which the artist captured both the famous places where hiking trails ran and the magnificent views that he personally discovered.
