"Under the guise of laughter" - personal exhibition of Alexander Chuvashiv in Izhevsk

Izhevsk. The talented Izhevsk artist Alexander Chuvashev celebrated his 35th birthday with the solo exhibition “Under the guise of laughter”. For the artist, this is the first solo exhibition presented by him in the prestigious exhibition space of Izhevsk - the Udmurt Fly of Fine Arts.

Alexander Chuvashev is universal in his work. He creates paintings and graphic works of various genres, devotes time to sculptural works. For the exhibition housed in the Udmurt Museum, the artist selected his new works created this year.

The name of the exhibition can well be called speaking, since the phrase "Under the guise of laughter" most people associate with the circus world, with the difficult life of its artists. Indeed, visitors to the exhibition, when examining the works placed in the exposition, are immersed in the life of the circus, which flows far from the eyes of the audience.

Alexander Chuvashev created his works in various genres - in the exposition, along with expressive portraits, genre painting is presented. All works are united by plots related to the backstage life of circus artists. Among the images that come to life in the artist’s paintings are gymnasts and clowns, trainers and their pets.

The talented painter was able to show that the outward brilliance and smiles inherent in circus art hide the enormous work of people who have dedicated their lives to the circus, their delicate and vulnerable personalities. There was a place in the exposition and images of animals written in the original author’s style. The artist gives them human emotions and qualities.

The circus world depicted by Alexander Chuvashev is out of time, there are no signs of a certain era in it. This is a reflection of the world of the backstage seen through the eyes of the artist.

The exhibition is open until mid-November.
