Pupils of Nizhny Novgorod will begin the school year with the study of electronic textbooks

NIZHNY NOVGOROD. Children of school No. 185 in Nizhny Novgorod will be the first students in the city to study in electronic textbooks. This experiment will allow both teachers and students to first-hand experience to evaluate all the benefits of electronic textbooks. The head of the Nizhny Novgorod administration, Oleg Kondrashov, recently visited an educational institution and said that it is here that modern technologists will be introduced in the new school year. To implement this project, all educational literature will be provided by the Akademkniga / Textbook Moscow publishing house, which collaborates with the Russian Academy of Sciences.

A project called "Living Lesson" is now being implemented in several regions of Russia. The aim of the project is not only the replacement of printed textbooks with electronic ones - the Academy of Sciences of Russia wants in the future to transfer the entire educational process to an electronic system. At the moment, as part of the experiment, it is planned to give each student a gadget that looks like a modern tablet. The right side of the device will be designed to complete the task, and the left is an e-book. All textbooks can be downloaded to the tablet’s memory from the Internet. According to the organizers of the project, modern electronic textbooks will have much more information than print media: special sections will contain links to additional sources and photos in the form of three-dimensional images illustrating the educational material.

Students will use this tablet throughout the school year, however, it is forbidden to take the device home, because Its cost is quite high. Students will perform homework as before - according to printed textbooks.
