KIEV. On December 19, Osnova Publishing House will launch a new reprinted collection of novels, Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka, with illustrations by Ukrainian artist Ilya Isupov.

Eight stories of the famous collection of stories by Nikolai Gogol, illustrated by the famous Ukrainian artist Ilya Isupov, will please all fans of Russian literature with a new design on St. Nicholas Day, publisher Anna Kopylova said at a press conference. “We all read Gogol when we were at school, but over time his works need to be rethought. This is a book for parents who re-read classics with their children, ”she said.

The new edition of the collection of stories is dedicated to the 185th anniversary of the beginning of Nikolai Gogol’s writing his first story in the collection Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka. According to the publishing house Osnova, which decided to reissue classical literature, it was the work of the artist Isupov that made it possible to take a fresh look at the mystical stories of Nikolai Gogol. Also from the message of the publishing house it became known that to create the most suitable images of already well-known heroes of stories, the artist needed 3 months of continuous work. The collection, which includes 25 vivid illustrations, includes 8 novels: “An Evening on the Eve of Ivan Kupal”, “Missing Certificate”, “Sorochinskaya Fair”, “May Night, or the Drowned Woman”, “The Night Before Christmas”, “The Enchanted Place”, “Ivan Fedorovich Shponka and his aunt "and" Terrible revenge ".
