KRASNOYARSK. On Tuesday, December 16, the famous science fiction writer Mikhail Uspensky was buried on the Walk of Fame of the Krasnoyarsk cemetery Badalyk. Dozens of admirers of his work and friends — famous journalists, writers, artists and artists — came to lead the last journey of a talented author.

Speaking at a mourning rally, the writer’s colleagues noted the multifaceted talent of Mikhail Uspensky and the highest depth of elaboration of his works. “In addition to classic Russian science fiction novels, he wrote sparkling novels, poems, and tales in an ironic style. In the federal and regional media, Mikhail was also known as a journalist covering sensitive social topics, ”said Mikhail Streltsov, chairman of the Krasnoyarsk regional branch of the Union of Russian Writers.

As a rule, Mikhail Uspensky worked on one work for several years, and he wrote the novel “Paradise Machine” for 7 years. However, this particular book for the whole of 2010 received a number of prestigious literary awards - “Silver Arrow”, “ABS Prize”, “Star Bridge”, “Philosopher’s Stone”, “Interpresscon” and “Sigma-F” (Kira Memorial Prize Bulycheva).

Also on the list of literary awards of the writer is Boris Strugatsky’s personal award - in 1993 he received the Bronze Snail for his novel The Cast Iron Horseman. Over the years, Mikhail Uspensky earned two professional awards, “The Wanderer”, for the novel “Where We Are Not” and the story “Dear Comrade King”. Among other things, the novel "Where We Are Not There" was awarded the special prize "Sword in the Stone" for the best work in the genre of science fiction, and also won the Golden Ostap international prize.

Close writers note that in recent years, Mikhail Glebovich was often and seriously ill, he had a protracted depression. He stopped writing, saying that "my reader is dead, I have no one to write." If there had been no depression, he would have lived, ”said Nelly Ratkevich, the widow of the writer. Mikhail Uspensky died on December 13 at the age of 64. According to the author’s wife, he simply did not wake up in the morning.

One of the fans of the writer’s work, who came to the cemetery to say goodbye to him, said of Ouspensky: “Mikhail Glebovich is our pride, he is his own, Siberian. "Such as he glorify our city, country… thanks to them, the world knows Russia as a smart and talented country."

Mikhail Glebovich Uspensky was born in Barnaul on November 29, 1950. The most significant and famous works of the author are the novel “Serpent’s Milk”, written based on the Strugatsky’s “Afternoon World”, the novel “Where We Are Not”, the novel “Dear Comrade King”, the novels “The Paradise Machine”, “The Cast Iron Horseman”, “ Whom to send for death. ” The last work of Ouspensky was the novel "The Feature of Kostya Zhikharev," written in Russian epics.
