Moscow Book Festival of Russia Festival Launched on Red Square

MOSCOW. Yesterday, June 25, the grand opening of the Moscow Book of Russia festival took place on the main square of the capital. The event should be the largest cultural event and the culmination of the passing Year of Literature in Russia.

For the first time in history, famous writers, leading cultural figures and artists gathered on Red Square to present to the residents and guests of the capital the most interesting, relevant and significant in the field of literature and book publishing.

On 23 thousand square meters of the main square of the country - from the Frontal Place to the Historical Museum - there are 7 interactive sites and a large stage near St. Basil’s Cathedral, on which more than 100 different events will be held on every festival day. In the days of the Book of Russia festival, Red Square will contain more than 100 thousand books, 300 publishing houses from all regions of the Russian Federation and more than 350 thousand visitors.

The Book of Russia festival will run until June 28th. The working hours of the sites are from 10:00 to 22:00. Admission to all events within the framework of the literary forum is free.
