Results of the Dovlatovsky festival "Reserve". Zone of compromise

PSKOV. In the Pskov region on September 17-19, 2015 the festival "Reserve" was held, dedicated to Sergey Dovlatov. He was remembered for being sold out, the absence of many declared guests and unexpected comments by the Minister of Culture.

Had Dovlatov found out about the event of his own name, he would have quoted himself: “First they will kill a man, and then they begin to search for his personal belongings.” But the festival took place and fulfilled its main function - it recalled the writer, whom Alexander Genis called the voice of a generation. A biography that embodies the traditional experience of patriarchy for a creative person, a service in the protection of correctional institutions, and guided tours in Mikhailovsky. Throughout life - journalism classes and the creation of beautiful ironic prose. Devoted to ostracism for the unacceptable from the point of view of the authorities detachment of his heroes from the life of society, their disagreement with the image of the builder of communism, His Alter Ego did not mentor, did not learn to live. In the stories about the Kafkaian realities of Soviet life, there was a bitter irony, not colored by hatred. In his homeland, he could only rely on samizdat. Emigration has become a salvation and an opportunity to speak in full voice.

The Pushkin Nature Reserve, which once provided a brief refuge for talent persecuted from everywhere, sheltered its fans 40 years later. The festival program included poetry reading and a literary contest, auteur cinema screenings and performances, an exhibition of contemporary art, a visit to the house-museum in the village of Berezino. The work in the creative sections was supervised by such media characters as Viktor Erofeev, Vera Polozkova, Pavel Kaplevich, Aidan Salakhova. Full houses accompanied almost every event. Films of the Icelander Friedrick Thor Fridriksson (Friðrik Þór Friðriksson), invited by Andrei Plakhov. An evening of “intellectual music” with the participation of Vladimir Martynov and Leonid Fedorov, lecture by literary critic Andrei Aryev. The winner of the literary contest was declared Gennady Litvintsev. Traditionally, Vladimir Medinsky was pleased with paradoxical remarks, ranking Dovlatov among the outstanding phenomena of 19th century literature and calling him a staff member of the ministry.

The first Dovlatovsky is planned to be made regular. It is hoped that many worthy people who ignored the festival for reasons far from literary life will find it possible to visit it in the future.
