ST. PETERSBURG. The hall, completely filled with spectators, a sea of flowers and a storm of endless applause - this is March 5th St. Petersburg theater-goers in the theater named after Leningrad City Council said goodbye to the play "Reserve". The premiere of this performance, staged by director Vasily Senin (he was also the author of the staging of the story by Dovlatov), took place in the summer of 2009.

More than six and a half years have passed since the premiere, the crowded theater hall applauded the participants of the performance 154 times. "Reserve", from the first show at the Lensovet Theater, loved by the audience, became the hallmark of the troupe. The audience was interested not only in the composition of the performers of the play, but also in the unique style of Sergey Dovlatov’s work, perfectly conveyed by the artists of the theater.

After the news about the closure of the "Reserve" in March, the audience instantly bought up tickets for his last show. At the box office, tickets were sold out long before March 5, and they started asking for “extra tickets” already at the exit from the metro. Theater veterans noted that they did not remember such a stir from the time when Igor Vladimirov presented his premieres.

Although the performance "Reserve" brought a substantial profit to the theater, about one million rubles were received at the theater box office for each show. The amount of fees from other performances is half less. Despite the high rate of popularity of the Reserve, the decision to close the play is final.

The theater management believes that space should be made available for new premieres, and the participants in the production themselves noted that the change in most of the cast did not benefit the Zapovednik. Now the performance no longer matches the level announced on the day of the premiere.

After flowers and applause, words of farewell were heard from the leading actor Arthur Waha.
