Results of the International Competition for Young Violinists in Ufa

UVA. The results of the First Violin Competition by Vladimir Spivakov are summed up.

Belinsky’s words about the recognition by a noble person of blood ties with the fatherland have a very direct relation to Vladimir Teodorovich Spivakov. Despite the relatively short period of the Ufa evacuation of his family, the musician always remembered his small homeland. Granted children from Bashkortostan more than once became scholars of the charity foundation he founded. Ufa was chosen as the venue for the new music competition for young violinists, and the territory of inspired creativity. Laureates received cash prizes and magnificent violins provided to young musicians for eternal use. The winner - Daniel Lozakovitj from Sweden - became the owner of a unique violin made at the end of the 19th century by master Carlo Giuseppe Oddone. The instrument with deep powerful sound is in perfect condition and has never been restored.

The giftedness of Daniel, who first picked up the violin by generally accepted standards rather late - at almost 7 years old, was evident after the first lesson. Daniel played as if behind him - a long period of intensive training. The record, sent two years later to Spivakov, turned out to be the catalyst that accelerated his advancement to the musical Olympus. Later, joint performances with Moscow Virtuosos, a victory in the Nutcracker contest, and successful performances at many international competitions followed. Almost no one doubted the victory of the Swedish child prodigy at the competition in Ufa from the very beginning. In the near future, Lozakovich plans to enter the school of Yehudi Menuhin and participate in the most difficult competition of his name.

Two second places deservedly went to Mai Suzuki from Japan and Agnes Langer from Hungary, who conquered the audience with virtuoso play, charm and fearlessness, which allowed them to successfully storm the most complex works. The excitement did not allow the Russian participant, Leonid Zhelezny, to rise above third place. Plans to participate in the next Tchaikovsky competition will require significant efforts from a talented musician to overcome excessive emotions. Anastasia Mamyasheva from Ufa received half a million rubles for the majority of votes in the nomination “Audience Award”.
