"How to become an idiot" learn tonight at the RAMT theater

Tonight, November 6, the Moscow RAMT Theater, for the first time in Moscow, will provide viewers with the opportunity to see a stage interpretation of a book by the popular French writer, our contemporary Martin Page, with an unexpected title - "How I became an idiot." The content of the play is surprisingly similar to the reality surrounding us.

It is based on the story of a young man for whom a collision with the real world after graduation turned into the realization that the time spent obtaining several diplomas was wasted. The knowledge gained does not bring success in life, nobody needs it, and the main character of the production also does not need it too much.

Antoine, the young hero of the play, understands that the result of his long study was to obtain the profession of an unemployed. The results summed up by the hero lead him to the conclusion that it is much easier to become an idiot.

The director of the play, Vladimir Bogatyryov, said about the act of the hero of the play that it was his attempt to "travel to stupidity." This novel by a French writer interested the director in the issues raised in it, relevant for everyone. Indeed, in order to find a place in life often requires incredible courage.

The story told in the play is consonant with the life of the author of the book. His works have long been rejected by publishers, but when the first book, which was the novel How I became an idiot, was published, it immediately became popular among readers. Marten Page’s novels are now published in many languages.

According to the director, Vladimir Bogatyrev, work on the play was not easy. Only in a team of like-minded people, which was formed in the native theater of RAMT, could such a complex production be carried out.
