The new work of Krzysztof Zanussi on the stage of the Ural variety theater

The premiere of the play staged by the famous Polish director Krzysztof Zanussi took place in Yekaterinburg. Viewers on December 9 saw on the stage of the Ural Variety Theater a production of “Rita’s Education” created by a famous director based on a play by W. Russell, a popular English playwright.

The performance is presented to the audience as part of the film "In the Circle of the Family", which is taking place these days in Yekaterinburg. This international festival is being held in the Ural capital for the seventh time, and Krzysztof Zanussi is constantly working as its chairman.

In Russia, the director is no longer considered a guest, because the experience of his work with Russian actors has been over twenty years. Zanussi also met with the actors of the Sverdlovsk drama in his work on the play “The King is Dying,” based on the play by Ionesco. This performance was warmly received by the Ural audience.

The new work of Krzysztof Zanussi was another success of the director, especially since in addition to excellent directorial work and a wonderful play of actors, an exciting play was chosen for staging the performance. Witty dialogue of the heroes, unexpected plot twists were interrupted by applause.

The play “Education of Rita” is a story about the fact that each person can get a chance to change their life one day, for this you need very little - a firm desire to do it. The plot of the play comes from the famous comedy “Pygmalion”, written by Bernard Shaw, only now the professor of literature Frank turns into a beautiful lady a hairdresser Rita, who wants to find the meaning of life by studying literature. Gradually, Rita becomes more interesting for the professor than the people around him.

Moscow theatergoers will be able to see Zanussi’s new work on December 24th in Moscow, on the stage of the Thearium on Serpukhovka.
