The youth theater on the Fontanka in August decided to pamper its fans

ST. PETERSBURG. Although the official opening of the 35th season at the Fontanka Theater will take place only on September 12th, the entire August Youth Theater team gave viewers the opportunity to get acquainted with their repertoire. On the stage of the theater, one could see not only performances that firmly took their place in the repertoire poster, but also premiere performances.

One of the premiere performances presented to the public at the end of last season was the production of the famous play by Bertolt Brecht. “A kind man from Cezuan”, obviously in order to avoid association with the cult performance of the Taganka Theater, which has been going on the stage of the Moscow theater for almost five decades, received a new name.

Now the story, which told the audience about how difficult it is to do good to others at the same time, but at the same time to remain happy yourself, was called the "Last Chinese Warning." The performance was staged by the artistic director of the theater, Semyon Spivak. The musical arrangement is traditional for this Brecht play - Paul Dessau’s zongs sound.

However, new music appeared, written by Igor Kornelyuk specifically for the performance, and organically fit into its plot. On August 24, the theater team will show the audience “The Last Chinese Warning” for the last time before the start of the official season. The season will open on September 12th also with this performance.

The performance takes place with two intermissions and lasts four and a half hours. Actress Emilia Spivak, who plays the main role, during this time leaves literally all the forces on the stage. This is not surprising - the role is interesting, but extremely difficult for the performer. Those from the audience who are familiar with other theatrical works of Emilia Spivak, argue that this is her most interesting role to date.
