For the first time, artists of the Belarusian Musical Comedy Theater arrived in Yekaterinburg

YEKATERINBURG. While the artists of the Sverdlovsk Musical Comedy show their art to the residents of the Crimea, Yekaterinburg theater-goers welcome guests from Belarus. Starting from September 26th, on the stage of the musical comedy, musical theater artists from Minsk present their tour performances.

Belarusian actors have long dreamed of showing their performances, highly praised by the audience of their native republic. The popularity of theaters is estimated by attendance, so it is worth noting that over 250 thousand spectators have time to visit the performances of the Belarusian Musical Comedy during the season.

Guests from Belarus brought eight performances of various genres to Yekaterinburg, including a musical, an operetta, and a ballet. The tour opened with a musical on a historical theme - “Sophia Golshanskaya”. The artists who worked for more than two years worked on the creation of this performance, which tells about the true story of the marriage of the Polish king Jagiello to the Belarusian beauty Sophia. The premiere of the performance took place in November last year.

Yekaterinburg ballet lovers will certainly be interested in the experimental work of the main choreographer of the Belarusian Theater Vladimir Ivanov, the ballet "Assol", based on the famous novel by Green. To perform the main role in the play, a dancer from Japan, Miku Suzuki, was invited.

The libretto of the ballet is written precisely “based on”. A new hero appeared in it - the Storyteller, and Captain Gray is markedly different in his fate from the romantic character of Green’s novel. The invitation to the role of Assol of the Japanese actress also became an experiment. Her dissimilarity to other ballet characters helps her stand out from their background.

The tour will end with a gala concert at which not only guests from Belarus, but also the hosts of the stage will perform.
