"All About Cinderella" at the Moscow Musical Theater - an old story in a new way

MOSCOW. The Moscow musical theater presented the premiere of yet another version of the tale, which has remained popular for several centuries. “All about Cinderella” - this is the name of the musical performance of its creators.

A creative team worked on the musical, where maestro Raymond Pauls, who was still beloved in our country, was responsible for the musical design of the production. A rather popular rock band “SLOT” worked with him. The result of the work was wonderful melodies written by Pauls, sounding from the stage in the arrangement of a rock band, and the performance of each of the songs ended with a storm of applause.

The play with well-known characters, where fairy-tale characters received not only new character traits that are characteristic of modern people, but also a new biography, were written by D. Bykov and S. Plotov. Together with them, the director of the musical O. Glushkov and stage designer V. Volya worked on the content of the play.

The musical was originally conceived as a musical fairy tale for a children’s audience, but the authors’ imagination led them so far that their work became relevant for viewers of any age. Although the total duration of the performance was three hours, and it was difficult for children to stay in the hall for so long, this musical was an exception for them. After the performance, it was clear that the small audience who had the good fortune of attending the premiere came out with happy smiles.

From the classic story of the fairy tale, only the foundation has been preserved - a poor girl who dreams of meeting with the prince. By the will of the authors, Cinderella has moved in today’s time, and the characters of our contemporaries are recognizable in the characters surrounding it. They solve the same problems that spectators sitting in the hall face daily, their jokes are also related to today. Therefore, each of them finds an instant response in the hall.
