Closing of the 37th Moscow International Film Festival

MOSCOW. 37-1 Moscow International Festival comes to an end. During the festival week, the films of the main competition, as well as films of parallel programs, were shown in the cams of the film forum. In this gode, the festival was attended by works from Serbia, Spain, Lebanon, Japan, Bulgaria, Russia and other countries. For the first time, such films as the sensational Oscar-winning documentary project “CITIZENFOUR. True Snowden ”and the work of Alexander Mindadze“ Dear Hans, dear Peter. ”

For the first time, the Moscow International Festival was held in 1935. Then the chairman of the jury was the Soviet film director Sergei Eisenstein. This year, the French director Jean-Jacques Annot, the author of the film Black and White in Color, who won the Oscar in 1977, was honored to lead the jury of the main festival of Russia.

The Moscow premiere of the film CITIZENFOUR. True Snowden, which will appear at the box office on July 9th. The Oscar-winning film directed by Laura Poytras is a documentary recording of a series of interviews with Edward Snowden, a former American National Security Agent (NSA), now a political refugee hiding in Russia.

In the main competition of the film festival, in addition to the aforementioned picture by Alexander Mindadze, the following films were shown to the audience: “Armie is Alive!” Directed by Jorn Donner, “Losers” Ivaylo Hristova, “Orleans” Andrei Proshkin, “Heroes of Evil” Soe Berriatua, “Aventur” Irina Evteeva and others.

The closing ceremony of the 37th Moscow International Film Festival and the award ceremony will take place today at 19:00 on Pushkinskaya Square in the cinema center "Russia". The closing film will be a film directed by Sergio Castellitto, "No One Can Save Alone."
